Bodø Council should be a timeless and progressive signature building which is anchored in the city's urban identity. The city hall is important for the functional co-location of the municipal administration, while being an important symbol of the local democracy. The urban fabric of historic buildings and new constructions is central to the project's architectural uniqueness.
The project is rational and flexible to meet the municipality's needs in the future. Bodø will gain a unifying and worthy city hall which is transparent and open to the public. The buildings and surrounding town squares has an announcement and accessibility which is evident in the cityscape. The new Bodø council will become a rational and robust facility that can withstand the patina of time and emerge inclusive for all its users; both public and employees. The project will enhance the locality, cultural and architectural experience of Bodø, as the county's largest city and forward-looking regional capital.
