The new Dornbirn library is a place of experience, learning and understanding. It's placed as an open pavilion in the park which invites both children and adults to linger. The pavilion is a part of the park itself and allows experiences of the trees in their different heights and vegetation with its particular room conditions. The library offers rooms with different qualities, from extroverted to introverted: Shielded niches, open reading areas with specific targeted views, vertical spaces with skylights, and communicative areas which offer visual connection between the different zones. A small microcosm is created, a space between the tree crowns.
