Good architecture is to design an environment that underpins the teachers work practically, functionally and educationally - while at the same time act as an inspiration to both students and adults in the form of a safe and imaginative environment. The curriculum's description of the human as complex; integrated, environmentally aware, collaborative, informed, working, creative and meaning-seeking requires good surroundings. That is why the project, with motto "Keys to knowledge", is developed as a diverse and robust arena for learning - for both the individual and the community.
The project relates to the identity of its location as well as the multi-cultural composition of its student population. "Keys to knowledge" refers to both local and global culture - as a versatile and distinctive "learning village" that orients both to society and nature.
The project is a collaboration with Planforum Arkitekter. Illustrations by RRA.
