The center has a privileged location at the head of Jøssingfjord, between steep mountains and the water’s edge, with proximity to the existing traces of earlier habitation and industry. The experience of the project is characterized by the interaction between these elements and the new facility. The building is organized around the changing room sequences, with visual contact to the surrounding landscape, the museum’s outdoor unit, and the house’s interior. This is so the various landscapes provide glimpse and views, blending into the house’s interior visual environment. In this way, lines in the landscape lend the building its visual character.
