Oslo Gate Apartments
Oslo gate 7 is an apartment building from approximately 1860, listed as worthy of preservation. It is located in the historical part of the city, close to the medieval park, important historical buildings and archeological ruins. The project will be developed into a comprehensive facility that combines new and old in an attractive and innovative way. It will reflect the history and site characteristics, and will be a pioneering project for sustainable construction of the newbuildings and preservation of existing buildings.
The existing volume will be transformed as part of the project with high quality contemporary living. Five relatively large apartments will be converted into twelve units, including four duplex apartments. The new proposed building will consist of twenty-three apartments and underground parking with storage spaces. The connection between exterior and interior, old and new is emphasized with long sightlines stretching into the city and with a common outdoor area.
The architecture is based on a rational system with high spatial qualities, which reinforces the district as a good place to stay, to live and to be.
