The project for a new kindergarten in Sande has been carefully designed as a place-specific building volume and its character built on Skafjellåsens’s culture and nature. Other premises for the design strategy is good accessibility for everyone and visibility though the entire site, including from the inside. The car parking works as a buffer to the high school located on the north side.
The kindergarten offers six units for children aged 1–5 years and a possible expansion to 10 units. All units share a common area with a kitchen in the heart of the building. The administration is located towards the north and centrally within the building. As a result, the staff can easily control what is happening on the inside and outside of the building.
