Trondheim City Square
The significance of Trondheim's heart - the city square - is more important today than ever before, in conveying the city's identity, culture and history. Our proposal for its revitalisation is to be harmonious with the surrounding buildings dimensions. The new permanent stage and outdoor furniture will highlight the local place and identity, while becoming an attraction in itself. The circular form of the stage addresses multiple directions onto the square. It is a meeting point as much as a stage for various events. The furniture are designed to accommodate both individuals and groups, and doesn't have a primary direction or backside. The architectural project aspire to interpret the function and site of the brief by application of forms that announce its inherent function and the use of wood as primary material.
