The "wine village" of Girlan has a unique density and variety of wine cellars and is an important part of the Überetsch area of South Tyrol. The wine cellar is the "belly" of the wine farm, and the project seeks to make this hidden space available to a wide audience. The building's unique shape anchors the subterranean wine cellar to the urban fabric of the town. The "Vineum" is woven into tradition and innovation through local building traditions and represents a new attraction for the South Tyrol province.
