We are happy to announce that we have been selected to compete for the development of Cirkus Lorensberg, in the in the centre of Gothenburg. We are teaming up with Kaminsky Architecture.
“In December 2020, Serneke, in collaboration with Gothenburg City and Sweden's Architects, invited architects to pre-qualify for the parallel assignments for the development of Cirkus Lorensberg. The mission involves, within the framework of a detailed planning process and through a careful approach to Lorensbergsparken, creating new homes in a central location, enhancing both the park's function based on its cultural history and surrounding streets with new features on the ground floor and ensuring safe and accessible paths past and through the block in a valuable cultural historical environment.
On March 12, 2021, Serneke and Gothenburg City, in collaboration and after evaluation, decided to choose the following four teams for the for the parallel assignment:
• Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter – Kaminsky Architecture
• Belatchew Architects – Level Landscaping
• Kanozi Architects – Mareld Landscape Architects – Antiquum
• OKK+ – Sandellsandberg Architects – GAJD Architects
The four selected teams reflect different approaches to architecture and also to the task.
A total of 21 expressions of interest- all of very high quality - were received from a mix of large, medium and smaller architectural offices. All expressions of interest have been carefully evaluated. The parallel mission will continue over the next six months with a subsequent evaluation before the end of the year” - Arkitekter.se
